For the Western Barents Sea, sedimentology, facies interpretation and facies maps with differentiation between observations and interpretations are made available together with useful Wheeler diagrams visually highlighting unconformities.

The tectonic events identified by this work plays a significant role in the understanding of the uplift history in the area, which has lead to viable oil plays in this region.
